  • How do the sessions work? / What is the process? / What can I expect from the sessions?

    15 minute Introductory Call – Before committing to a session, we offer all new clients a free 15 minute introductory call. During the call, we learn a little about your health goals and discuss possible ways of us to work together. This is also an opportunity for you to interview us! We understand there needs to be a connection when working one-on-one with another person. The free call gives you the opportunity to hear about our ethics, what we offer and if it is a right fit for you without a the financial commitment, no strings attached.

    Setting Up your First Appointment – If you decide to move forward we will then add you to our secure HIPPA complaint portal, so you can create a profile and download our app. Safely, add recent lab results, private documents, create a food and activity journal, and start working on your goals right away! You may cancel and reschedule appointments through the app and if you need to contact us between sessions, simple message us through the chat feature.

    The Initial Consultation is the foundation of which we base the meetings that follow. During which we would discuss personal medical history, family medical history, lifestyle needs, work schedule, food preferences, stress analysis, sleep patterns, blood chemistry analysis, medications and supplement analysis, goal setting, nutritional coaching, plus anything you feel is relevant to include. Before the sessions ends, we would record biometrics – body fat, muscle mass, visceral fat, caloric needs, BMI and weight. Please note that after the Initial Consult a follow up appointment is required to present results and findings.

    Follow Up Consultations can either be done in person or via Telehealth. Each week, we would work on achieving your goals, while also discussing mindful eating, personal accountability, and nutrition education so that in the future you can apply the principles of nutrition into your everyday life.

  • Is working with a Dietitian/Nutritionist right for me?

    Take advantage of our free Introductory call to see if working with a dietitian/nutritionist is the right decision for you! We will listen to your concerns and then help point you in the right direction.

  • Why should I choose New York City Nutrition?

  • How do you book an appointment?

    You can schedule an appointment online through our app, or you can contact us directly.

  • Do you take insurance?

    Insurance companies can be confusing and frustrating. Let us help you determine what is covered by insurance by calling our office. Our billing department will help you with your needs.

  • What should I bring to my first appointment?

    Just you! Since everything we need to get started will be in the portal, the only thing you need to do is show up.

  • Do you create Individual wellness plans?

    Yes! We pride ourselves on offering the best nutritional services and care so that you can get the most out of our sessions. No two health and wellness plans are the same, and we can tailor all nutritional guidance, education, recipes, etc. to suit your lifestyle and needs. It is our goal to bridge the gap between what you know about nutrition and what you want to learn.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

    We accept cash, check, American Express, MasterCard, Visa, HFA and FSA cards.

  • What is the price of the sessions? How much does it cost?

    To better assist you with pricing, we recommend that you take advantage of the free call so we can give you a precise answer. Sessions may be on an as needed schedule, or if you are looking for something more structured we have 3 and 6 month programs available.

  • How often would we meet?

    It is recommended to meet once a week for the first month and bi weekly after.

  • What are the backgrounds and qualifications of the team?

    They are both board certified nutritionists by the academy of nutrition and dietetics. Please visit our about page for more info on our team.

  • What type of client’s do you normally work with?

    The New York City Nutrition team specializes in weight loss, autoimmune and endocrine health. As scientifically trained Dietitians/ Nutritionists, we use an evidence based approach as well as applying some eastern philosophies.
